Peptide basics
What a research peptide is, how it is made, and the vocabulary you will meet on a label.
What is a research peptide?
A research peptide is a short chain of amino acids, usually between 2 and 50, manufactured for laboratory study rather than for medical use. Peptides act as signaling molecules, which is what makes them useful tools for investigating receptor pharmacology and cellular pathways. Material sold as a research peptide is supplied for in vitro and laboratory work only, and is not a drug, a supplement or a medical device.

What is the difference between a peptide and a protein?
Length is the difference. Chains of roughly 50 amino acids or fewer are conventionally called peptides, while longer chains that fold into a stable shape are called proteins. The boundary is a convention rather than a hard chemical rule, which is why you will occasionally see the same molecule described both ways in the literature.
What does "research use only" actually mean?
It means the material is sold strictly for laboratory and in vitro research by qualified people, and not for human or veterinary use of any kind. This is not a formality. Under federal law the deciding factor is intended use, evidenced by how a product is labeled, marketed and sold, so material sold for research cannot lawfully be promoted for consumption.

Why do research peptides ship as a dry powder?
Because peptides are far more stable dry than in solution. Lyophilization pulls the water out under vacuum and leaves a solid cake, which slows the hydrolysis and oxidation that degrade a peptide once it is dissolved. It is also what lets a vial survive ambient shipping without a cold chain.

How are research peptides manufactured?
Almost all of them are built by solid phase peptide synthesis, in which amino acids are added one at a time to a growing chain anchored to a resin. The crude product is then cleaved from the resin, purified by preparative chromatography, and lyophilized. Purity and identity are confirmed afterwards by chromatography and mass spectrometry, which is what a certificate of analysis reports.
What is the difference between peptides, SARMs and anabolic steroids?
They are three chemically unrelated classes. Peptides are chains of amino acids that act on receptors as signaling molecules, SARMs are synthetic small molecules that bind the androgen receptor, and anabolic steroids are modified derivatives of testosterone built on a backbone of four fused rings. The mechanisms, the regulatory status and the published evidence base differ for each.

Is a blend better than separate vials?
It depends on the research design, not on quality. A blend fixes the ratio between components and cuts down the number of reconstitutions and calculations, which suits work where the combination itself is the object of study. Separate vials let you vary each component on its own, which is what you need when the components are separate variables.

What does the mg figure on the label refer to?
It refers to the mass of lyophilized peptide in the vial, for example 10 mg in our BPC-157 vial and 100 mg in Epitalon. It is not a concentration. Concentration only exists once the powder is dissolved, and it depends entirely on the volume of diluent added, which is why one vial can be prepared at many different concentrations.

What is the difference between Semaglutide, Tirzepatide and Retatrutide?
The number of receptors each one acts on. Published literature describes Semaglutide as a single agonist at the GLP-1 receptor, Tirzepatide as a dual agonist at the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, and Retatrutide as a triple agonist at the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. That escalating receptor profile is exactly why the three are studied as a series in metabolic signaling research.

Is Retatrutide FDA approved?
No. Retatrutide is an investigational compound that has not been approved by the FDA, and what we supply is research material rather than a medicine. Phase 2 results have been reported in the published literature and trials have continued past that stage, but investigational status is precisely why it is sold for laboratory research only.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide exist as approved prescription drugs. Is your vial the same thing?
No. Those molecules are the active ingredients in approved prescription medicines sold under brand names by their manufacturers, and those products are dispensed by pharmacies against a prescription. What we supply carries a lot number and is intended for laboratory work. It is not a licensed medicine, it is not dispensed by a pharmacy, and it must not be used as one.

What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide derived from a fragment of a protein found in gastric juice, with CAS number 137525-51-0 and a molecular weight of about 1419.55. Published literature investigates it in tissue and cellular research models, including experimental work on how peptides interact with processes at the tissue level. We supply it as a 10 mg lyophilized vial.

What is TB-500, and is it the same as Thymosin Beta-4?
They are related but not identical. Thymosin Beta-4 is a naturally occurring peptide of 43 amino acids, and TB-500 is a shorter synthetic fragment associated with it that reproduces part of the region which binds actin. Literature on TB-500 concentrates on cytoskeletal organization and the pathways around actin, which is why the two names travel together but should not be used interchangeably.

What is in the KLOW blend?
Four peptides in a single 80 mg lyophilized vial: GHK-Cu, BPC-157, KPV and TB-500. Each component appears on its own in published research across extracellular matrix, tissue and cellular models, so the blend suits experimental work that examines several peptide systems inside one framework rather than across four separate preparations.

What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu is a tripeptide of glycine, histidine and lysine bound to copper, with CAS number 89030-95-5. Published literature investigates it in extracellular matrix research, gene expression studies, and experimental models examining how copper and peptides interact. The bound copper is why it is usually called a copper peptide rather than a plain tripeptide.

What is MOTS-c?
MOTS-c is a peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA rather than in the cell nucleus, with CAS number 1627580-64-6. Published literature investigates how it relates to cellular signaling pathways connected to mitochondrial biology and metabolic regulation, which is what makes it a common tool in mitochondrial research.

What is Epitalon?
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly and CAS number 307297-39-8. Published literature investigates it in telomere research and in experimental models focused on cellular aging and the molecular processes around it. At four amino acids it is the shortest compound in our catalog, and it is supplied as a 100 mg vial.

What is the difference between MT-2 and PT-141?
Receptor selectivity. MT-2 is an analog of alpha MSH, the melanocyte stimulating hormone, and it binds across the melanocortin receptor family including MC1R, the receptor associated with pigmentation. PT-141, also called bremelanotide, is a metabolite of MT-2 with reduced MC1R activity and a profile centered on MC3R and MC4R signaling, which is why the two are studied as a pair.

Which compound should I choose for my research?
That depends on the pathway you are studying, and it is not a call we can make for you. Every product page lists the CAS number, molecular formula, molecular weight, form and research category so you can match the material to your protocol, and every compound has a literature overview in our Research Library. Why do you not publish dosing charts or protocols?
Because these are research compounds and not medicines, and publishing guidance on how to administer them would misrepresent what we sell. We publish what we can document: lot numbers, certificates of analysis, CAS numbers, molecular weights and the published literature. Anything touching human health belongs with a qualified, licensed professional, not with a supplier.

How to read a certificate of analysis, what our ledger publishes, and how to spot a fake.
What is a certificate of analysis?
A certificate of analysis, or COA, is the analytical report for one specific production lot. It identifies the lot, states the test methods used, and reports the results, typically a purity figure from chromatography and an identity confirmation from mass spectrometry. Because it belongs to a single lot, a COA for a different batch tells you nothing about the vial in your hand.

How do I find the COA for the vial I received?
Read the lot number printed on the vial label, then match it against the entry in our public COA ledger. The ledger is organized by lot, so you are verifying your specific vial rather than a generic sample. Where results from an outside laboratory are on file, the certificate is published there as a downloadable document.
Who performs your testing?
Independent analytical laboratories, outside our own chain of control. This matters because an outside laboratory has no commercial interest in whether a batch passes, which is the whole argument for using one instead of testing internally. Every published certificate names the laboratory, the method and the date, so the result is attributable rather than anonymous.

What does "pending" mean in your COA ledger?
It means that lot has been submitted for testing and the certificate is not back yet. We publish the pending status rather than an estimated figure, and we do not reuse an older lot's certificate to fill the gap. A ledger that shows pending entries is a ledger that is reporting reality.
What does 99% purity actually mean?
It means that on the chromatogram, about 99% of the total peak area belongs to the target peptide, with the rest made up of related substances such as truncated or modified sequences. It is a ratio between peaks, not a statement about how much peptide the vial holds by mass. Purity is measured by HPLC or UPLC, while identity is confirmed separately by mass spectrometry.

Does purity tell me how much peptide is in the vial?
No, and this is the most common misreading of a COA. Purity is a relative measure of how clean the peptide fraction is. Peptide content, sometimes called net peptide, is an absolute measure of how much peptide the vial actually holds, since a lyophilized cake also contains salts and residual water. A vial can be 99% pure and still contain less peptide than its label mass implies, which is why the two figures are reported separately.
How can I tell whether a COA is genuine?
Check four things. The testing laboratory should be named and independently searchable. The lot number on the certificate should match the number printed on your vial. The methods and the test date should be stated rather than implied. And the mass spectrometry result should match the expected molecular weight for that compound. A supplier that shows certificates only on request, or publishes one certificate for every batch, has failed the test before you read a single number.

Why does testing every batch matter so much for peptides?
Because quality in this market varies from lot to lot rather than from brand to brand. Published testing of commercially sourced peptide products has repeatedly turned up material that does not meet its labeled specification, and one certificate cannot vouch for a batch it was never run on. Testing each production lot and publishing the result against that lot number is the only version of the claim a buyer can verify.

How should lyophilized vials be stored?
Cool, dark and dry, with the seal intact. Published stability practice for lyophilized peptides is refrigeration for working stock and freezing at around minus 20 degrees Celsius for longer storage, where properly sealed material stays stable for extended periods. Light and atmospheric moisture are the two variables most often underestimated.
My order arrived without ice. Is the peptide ruined?
No. Lyophilized peptides are stable at ambient temperature for the length of a normal transit, which is exactly why they are dried in the first place. A cold chain is a requirement for solutions, not for dry powder, and a vial that arrives at room temperature after a few days in transit has not been compromised by the trip.

What is bacteriostatic water, and how is it different from sterile water?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which lets a prepared vial be entered more than once. Sterile water carries no preservative, so it suits preparations that are used once and discarded. The choice comes down to whether your protocol needs a vial you can return to.

How long does a peptide stay stable after it is reconstituted?
It varies by compound, and it is far shorter than in the dry state. Published stability work on commonly studied peptides generally reports a useful window on the order of four weeks under refrigeration at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, with some sources extending to roughly six weeks for particular compounds. Treat any figure you read as a starting point for your own stability check rather than a guarantee, since concentration, diluent and handling all move it.

What degrades a peptide once it is in solution?
Chemistry that water makes possible. The main routes reported in the literature are hydrolysis of the peptide bond, oxidation of vulnerable residues such as methionine and cysteine, deamidation, and aggregation, all of them accelerated by heat, light, unfavorable pH and mechanical agitation. This is why solutions are kept cold and dark, and why vigorous shaking is avoided.
Can a reconstituted peptide be frozen?
Freezing and thawing the same solution repeatedly is generally avoided in published practice, because every cycle stresses the peptide and drives aggregation. The standard workaround described in the literature is to divide the solution into portions at the point of preparation, so that any given tube is thawed once rather than many times.
Why should a vial reach room temperature before it is opened?
To keep water out of the powder. A vial taken straight from cold storage is colder than the room, so opening it lets atmospheric moisture condense onto the contents, and moisture is what starts hydrolysis in a material that was dried specifically to exclude it. Letting the sealed vial equilibrate first avoids the problem entirely.

What research use only means, who can order, and where the legal line sits.
Are research peptides legal to buy in the United States?
Yes, when they are bought and sold for legitimate laboratory research. What is not lawful is selling or marketing them for human consumption. The deciding factor under federal law is intended use, evidenced by labeling, marketing and the context of the sale rather than by the molecule itself. Buying for personal use falls outside research use, and regulators have treated a seller's own marketing as evidence of that intent.

Are your products FDA approved?
No. Nothing sold by Revoryn Labs has been evaluated or approved by the FDA, and none of it is a drug, food, dietary supplement, cosmetic or medical device. Some of the molecules in our catalog also exist as active ingredients in approved prescription medicines sold under other names, but our vials are research material and are not those products.
Who is allowed to order?
By placing an order you represent that you are at least 21 years old, that you are a researcher or are buying on behalf of a research organization, that the material will be handled only by people qualified in laboratory procedures, and that your intended use complies with all applicable federal, state and local law. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit any order, including where we believe material may be intended for something other than legitimate research.

Do I need an institutional affiliation or a license to order?
We do not ask you to submit a license or an institutional credential at checkout. That does not move the obligation: you remain solely responsible for complying with the federal, state and local rules that apply where you are to the purchase, possession and handling of research compounds. If your institution has its own procurement or handling requirements, they apply on top of ours.
Can you advise me about personal or medical use?
No, and we will not. Revoryn Labs does not prescribe, diagnose or treat, nothing on this site is medical advice, and we do not provide usage guidance of any kind. If your question is about your own health, take it to a qualified, licensed professional who can actually evaluate you. Do you ship internationally?
No. We ship within the United States only, including PO boxes and APO or FPO military addresses where the carrier supports them. We do not ship internationally, and we cannot arrange freight forwarding on your behalf.

Do you ship to every US state?
We ship anywhere in the United States our carriers deliver to. State and local rules governing research compounds are not uniform, though, and confirming what applies where the shipment is going is your responsibility as the buyer. If we believe an order cannot lawfully be filled, we will cancel and refund it rather than ship it.
What happens to my personal information?
It is used to process and deliver your order and to support you, and it is shared only with the service providers needed to do that: the platform, the payment processor, our fulfillment center, which receives your name and shipping address only, and the carrier. We do not sell personal information, and card numbers are handled by the payment processor and never stored by us.

Where is my order?
Tracking is emailed the moment your shipping label prints, usually within 1 to 2 business days of ordering. Check your spam folder if you do not see it, or sign in at your account to see every order and its current status.
When will my order ship, and how long does delivery take?
Orders are processed by our fulfillment center in Orlando, Florida within 1 to 2 business days, and domestic transit typically takes a further 2 to 5 business days after dispatch. Orders placed on weekends or holidays begin processing the next business day. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed, since carrier volume and weather can stretch transit.

How much is shipping?
Standard domestic shipping is free on orders of $100 or more, and orders under $100 ship at a flat rate of $8.95. We ship within the United States only, including PO boxes and APO or FPO addresses where the carrier supports them, and every order ships with tracking.
How do the volume discounts work?
Automatically, with no code needed. You get 5% off at 3 or more vials, 10% at 5 or more, and 15% at 10 or more, counted across the whole catalog, so you can mix compounds to reach a tier. The discount applies on its own in the cart and at checkout.

How does Subscribe and Save work?
Choose Subscribe and Save on any product page and you lock in 20% off with a monthly delivery. Same vials, same lot numbers in the same COA ledger, no fees. Subscriptions bill monthly at the discount shown at checkout, and a confirmation email goes out for every subscription order.
How do I pause, skip or cancel a subscription?
Sign in at your account, open Subscriptions, and manage it all from there: skip a month, pause, or cancel at any time, with no cancellation fees and no phone calls. Changes take effect immediately for any renewal that has not yet been processed. If a renewal has already entered processing, that order ships and the change applies from the following cycle. You can also email support and we will handle it.
Can I change my shipping address after ordering?
Email support as soon as you can with your order number. We can update the address at any point before the order is dispatched, but after dispatch changes cannot be guaranteed. If a package comes back to us as undeliverable because of an address error, we can reship it, with reshipment postage applying, or refund the order minus the original shipping cost.
What is your return policy?
Unopened products with intact seals can be returned within 30 days of the delivery date for a full refund, no questions asked and no restocking fees. Contact support with your order number first so we can authorize the return and give you the return address, since returns received without prior authorization cannot be processed. Opened or partly used products cannot be returned, for reasons of product integrity.

My order arrived damaged, defective or incorrect.
Report it within 7 days of delivery, with photos, to support@revorynlabs.com. We will replace the item or refund it, and we cover the return shipping when the mistake is ours. If your order has not arrived within 7 days of the expected delivery date, contact us with your order number and we will file the carrier claim and reship or refund.
How long do refunds take?
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of us receiving the return. Approved returns are refunded in full, with no restocking fee deducted.
Is checkout secure, and what payment methods do you accept?
Checkout runs on Shopify's hosted checkout, which is PCI compliant, and card details are handled by the payment processor rather than by us, so we never see or store full card numbers. The payment methods available to you are displayed at checkout.
