RT: An Overview of the Published Research

RT 10 mg lyophilized research vial, Revoryn Labs

RT is one of the most closely watched molecules in metabolic research. This overview summarizes what is publicly documented about it, its pharmacology, its development status, and why it appears in the research literature, without extrapolating beyond what has been published.

What RT is

RT (development code LY3437943) is a synthetic peptide developed by Eli Lilly, described in the literature as a single-molecule agonist of three receptors: the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor, the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor, and the glucagon receptor. This triple-agonist profile distinguishes it from earlier incretin-based molecules that act on one or two of these receptors.

Structurally, it is a large synthetic peptide (CAS 2381089-83-2, molecular formula C221H342N46O68, approximately 4731 g/mol), typically supplied for laboratory work as a lyophilized powder.

Where it stands in published research

Peer-reviewed publications describe RT's preclinical pharmacology and results from early and mid-stage clinical trials conducted by its developer, including phase 2 results published in 2023. Later-stage clinical programs have been registered and are described in public trial registries. Researchers cite this body of work when studying incretin receptor pharmacology, energy-balance signaling, and multi-receptor agonism as a design strategy.

Regulatory status, stated plainly

RT is an investigational compound. It has not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for any use. Material sold by research suppliers, including Revoryn Labs, is intended solely for laboratory and in-vitro research and is not a drug product. Nothing in the published literature changes that status, and nothing on this page should be read as a claim about safety or efficacy.

Why it appears in research settings

  • Receptor pharmacology. A single molecule engaging GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptors is a useful tool for studying how these pathways interact.
  • Peptide engineering. RT is a case study in designing long, modified peptides with extended activity, of interest to groups working on peptide stability and synthesis.
  • Analytical method development. Large synthetic peptides pose real analytical challenges; compounds like RT are used when developing chromatography and mass-spectrometry methods.

Documentation for our current lot

Our current RT lot is listed in the public COA ledger with its lot number, testing laboratory, method, and result, and the certificate is available for download on the product page. As with every compound we carry, we publish what has been tested and label anything pending as pending.
