GHK-Cu is the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine complexed with a copper(II) ion (CAS 89030-95-5, C14H24N6O4·Cu, ~402.9 g/mol). The free peptide GHK was first isolated from human plasma in the 1970s; its plasma concentration is documented to decline substantially with age, an observation that has driven much of the subsequent research interest.
What the literature documents
The GHK-Cu literature spans decades and is concentrated in in-vitro and preclinical work: studies in cell culture and animal models describing activity related to copper transport, extracellular-matrix remodeling enzymes, and gene-expression modulation. A separate, substantial body of cosmetic-science literature studies topical formulations containing the peptide, and it is an established ingredient in the cosmetics industry. As a systemic therapeutic, GHK-Cu is not an approved drug, and rigorous human clinical evidence outside the cosmetic-formulation context is limited.

The pale blue of GHK-Cu powder comes from the copper complex itself. Color is not a purity test, but a vial of GHK-Cu that is not blue is a reason to check the documentation.
